Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin (born Winnipeg, raised in Wellington) is an Canadian actress. Born in Winnipeg and raised in Wellington Paquin made her acting debut portraying Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she received an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at the age of 11, and was the 2nd youngest recipient to win an award within Oscar history. Anna Paquin is full Anna Helene Paquin born on July 24, 1982 Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. Canadian actor and New Zealander who at the age of a youngster, was awarded her first Academy Award in 1993 for the most outstanding supporting actress. Paquin was born in Winnipeg, Canada and moved from the city to New Zealand as a young teenager. After an audition, Flora McGrath was cast as the daughter a Scottish musician. Flora McGrath is the daughter of a muted Scottish musician, who emigrated to New Zealand to marry in the 19th century. In her teens her family relocated to the United States. Paquin had a small part in the role of Jane Eyre's title character while she was still a kid as part of Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (1996) as well as a lead part in the film Fly Away Home (1996). Paquin was in the role of Frankie Addams, a character from Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding in 1997. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad in 1997 her character was the queen of Spain in a smaller part. She portrayed teens on the screen in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon (1998) and Almost Famous (2000). In addition, she portrayed the groupie Polexia Aphrodisa.
